SLIPTA & SPI-RT e-Tools

The World Health Organization (WHO) Stepwise Laboratory Improvement Process Toward Accreditation (SLIPTA) checklist, originally in PDF format, is an auditing framework to evaluate the progress of laboratory quality systems toward international accreditation.

The Stepwise Process for Improving the Quality of HIV Rapid Testing (SPI-RT) is a checklist developed by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to evaluate quality assurance (QA) processes for HIV rapid testing, establishing minimum standards against which HIV testing sites measure their performance.

To streamline laboratory evaluation, GSSHealth converted the SLIPTA and SPI-RT checklists from PDF format into electronic tools, which are available for free download.

The e-tools, which require Excel access but not an Internet connection, allow users to switch between English and French and employ built-in automatic scoring systems. These features facilitate collaboration between multilingual teams and allow for the rapid turnaround of audit results, ultimately reducing the workload associated with the PDF-based checklists.

When accessing the tools, we request that users provide an e-mail address so that we can distribute updated versions of the tool when they are released. We will not use your contact information for other purposes.

Have you used GSSHealth e-tools in your work? We'd love to have your feedback! If you have any comments or suggestions about the tools, please e-mail us at SLIPTA@gsshealth.com

If you require the SLIPTA or SPI-RT tool in a language other than English or French and have a translation available, please contact us at the e-mail address above and we will be happy to discuss a potential collaboration to create a new version of the tool.
