DIFFERENTIATORS

TEAM

Our team includes medical technologists, product development experts,  bioinformaticians, and public health program managers with extensive field experience in resource-limited settings. We work in multiple languages, including English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese.

DATA

Our beneficiaries and funders deserve clear metrics and accountability. We start every project by assessing available
data and make decisions based
on ongoing data collection and analysis.

RELATIONSHIPS

Forming and maintaining relationships with our clients and in-country partners are critical to project performance. We prioritize lasting collaborations, facilitating multi-stakeholder alignment and offering subject matter expertise to improve partners' capacity to respond to global health needs.

ACCOUNTABILITY

We maintain US government-compliant accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and acquisitions book-keeping. Our administrative team members are trained on the GSA Federal Travel Regulations and DCAA bookkeeping and timekeeping practices.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

RAPID DEPLOYMENT OF DISEASE DETECTION TECHNOLOGIES

Our ability to detect, track and address current, emerging and future biothreats, depends on a comprehensive understanding of the threat environment and rapid field-identification of potential pathogens as close to the source as possible. Recognizing the need for field-deployable disease detection and surveillance, GSSHealth uses a rapid next generation sequencing deployment approach to establish surveillance in austere environments.

GLOBAL HEALTH SECURITY STRENGTHENING

During the Ebola response, we conducted quality assessments of personal protective equipment, provided training and coordination at Ebola community care centers in Sierra Leone and collected and validated surveillance data. We also developed flexible forecasting tools to model Ebola emergency supplies and are finalizing an emergency response package for more than 20 high risk diseases. Our work as a Global Health Security Agenda partner has enabled us to deliver local biosecurity solutions to reduce the risk of disease outbreaks.

Military Networks | Laboratory strengthening
MILITARY LABORATORY NETWORKS

Protection of the healthcare workforce is critical for our military personnel and our foreign military partners. We establish high-quality military disease surveillance facilities that provide network coverage for pre- and post-deployment. Our work as an implementing partner for the Military Laboratory Quality Improvement (MLQI) Network in West and Central Africa has facilitated the development of a model for strengthening military laboratory partnerships and advancing the standard of military laboratory services, particularly for HIV/AIDS diagnosis and surveillance.
