Our approach to capacity-building

At GSSHealth, we believe that quality assured laboratories are fundamental to support
healthcare systems and scientific research.

Without quality-assured testing, even in the smallest and remotest of laboratories, the
entire referral network of a healthcare system is weakened.

GSSHealth uses a simple model of capacity building to:

support health systems strengthening by establishing quality-assured laboratory testing;

increase human resource capacity by improving educational programs that train scientists and health care
workers;

empower managers with the tools to implement national strategic plans.

GSSHealth's approach is to empower local scientists by facilitating the capacity-building process. To this end, we
provide initial project management training to ensure sustainability and continued success.

We believe in working as a team with in-country staff to provide guidance on project design and implementation, long
term mentoring as well as establishing networks of communication to ensure accountability and sustainability.
